Summer


HERBS – plant basil, chives, coriander, fennel, gotu kola, heliotrope, lemongrass, mint, parsley, tarragon and winter savoury.

FRUIT & VEGETABLES – plant artichoke, beans, capsicum, celery, Chinese cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, kohlrabi, leek, lettuce, melons, okra, onion, potato (tubers), rosella, silver beet, spring onion, squash, sweet corn, sweet potato and tomato.

FLOWERS – sow ageratum, aster, balsam, celosia, cockscomb, coleus, gomphrena, impatiens, marigold, salvia, sunflower, torenia, vinca and zinnia. 


Autumn


HERBS – plant chervil, chicory, coriander, fennel, garlic bulbs, lavender, marjoram, oregano, parsley, rocket, sage, sorrel, rosemary, thyme, winter tarragon and yarrow.

FRUIT & VEGETABLES – plant broad beans, broccoli, lettuce, onion, peas, radish, shallots, spinach, spring onion and turnip.

FLOWERS – sow ageratum, alyssum, candytuft, carnation, cineraria, coreopsis, cornflower, cyclamen, delphinium, dianthus, everlasting daisy, Iceland poppy, impatiens, marigolds, sweet pea and viola.


Winter


HERBS – plant chamomile, comfrey, dill, garlic bulbs, lavender, lemon balm, marjoram, mint, oregano, parsley, sage, sorrel and thyme.

FRUIT & VEGETABLES – plant spinach, silver beet, lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussel sprouts, leeks, peas and early-maturing cabbage.

FLOWERS – sow pansies, violas, primulas, kalanchoe, snapdragons, marigolds, poppies, calendula, osteospermum, cornflower, dianthus, kale, lobelia, nemesia, hippeastrums, kniphofia, phlox, statice, strawflower, amaranthus, cosmos, gomphrena, portulaca, salvia, sunflower, torenia and zinnias for garden colour. Grevilleas, acacias, banksias and melaleucas will start blooming now. Camellias japonicas, magnolia, tabebuia, ozothamnus, gordonias, leptospermum, euphorbias, orange trumpet vine (Pyrostegia venusta) and poinsettias are also flowering.

Before spring, fertilise roses with Searles Rose & Flower Food and dig in a small amount of 5IN1 Organic Fertiliser. Fertilise azaleas and flowering bulbs.


Spring


HERBS – sow basil, chives, coriander, dill, mint, oregano, parsley, sage and thyme.

FRUIT & VEGETABLES –  sow beans, beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, capsicum, carrot, chicory, Chinese cabbage, cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, melons, mustard, onion, parsnip, potato, pumpkin, radish, rosella, silver beet, squash, sweet corn, sweet potato, tomato and watermelon.

FLOWERS – sow ageratum, aster, balsam, carnation, chrysanthemum, cockscomb, coleus, cosmos, dahlia, dianthus, everlasting daisy, gazania, geranium, gerberia, impatiens, kangaroo paw, marigold, nasturtium, petunia, portulaca, rudbeckia, salvia, snapdragon, sunflower, torenia, verbena and zinnia.
