What are Petal Blight symptoms?

Look out for rapidly growing brown spots, or white spots on paler coloured flowers, to browning off of the whole petal on your azaleas and camellias. This may be an indication of the fungal disease - petal blight which is common in wet and cool weather during flowering. The fungus spreads very quickly to other blooms and generally only effected the petals. The petals get stuck on the bush and don't drop.

How to control Petal Blight

Remove affected blooms promptly and control petal blight with Searles Mancozeb Plus every 10 days. It is important to thoroughly spray the whole plant and when watering normally, avoid wetting the petals.
